An upgrade to a 37-kilometre stretch of road between Coober Pedy and Oodnadatta funded by the federal and state governments.

Lying to the north of Port Augusta, Kempe Road recieved resealing and pavement rehabilitation under the Asset Improvement – Rural and Remote Program and the Local Roads Community Infrastructure Program.
